Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, won the Oscar Award.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, is an internationally renowned Emmy and Oscar award-winning Pakistani journalist and documentary filmmaker. She won an Emmy for her documentary, Pakistan: Children of the Taliban in 2010. She is also the first non-American to win the Livingston Award for Young Journalists. On 26 February 2012 Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy won an Oscar for her documentary film, Saving Face. She is the first Pakistani to win the prestigious award.

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani announced a high civil award for Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy on winning Oscar Award for her documentary film.

Arfa Karim, the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional

Arfa Karim, the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional. Arfa became the world's youngest Microsoft Certified Professional at the age of nine in 2004.

Arfa Karim passed away on January 16 at the age of 16 after suffering an epileptic stroke.

Pakistan Post has issued a commemorative postage stamp to pay tribute to Arfa Karim.

Nobel Laureate Professor Abdul Salam

Professor Abdul Salam was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1979, for his theoretical unification of the two fundamental forces of nature. A year before his Nobel Prize, he was awarded the Royal Medal of the Royal Society of London.

He was awarded NISHAN-E-IMTIAZ (1979), SITARA-E-PAKISTAN (1959) & Pride of Performance Medal and Award (1959) by the Goverment of Pakistan.

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, founder of HEU based Gas-centrifuge uranium enrichment programme for Pakistan's integrated atomic bomb project. Founded and established the Kahuta Research Laboratories (KRL) in 1976.

He was awarded HILAL-I-IMTIAZ (1989), NISHAN-E-IMTIAZ (1996) & NISHAN-E-IMTIAZ ( 1999) by the Goverment of Pakistan.
